Bobolinks

Bobolinks are a “species of special concern” due to habitat loss. They nest in high grasses requiring farmers to delay mowing to protect nests. At Houlihan Woods and Michael Giordano Tribute Area, as well as at Hurlbut Field, you can see the bobolinks in the spring where they come to raise their young and the grasses are not mowed until they fledge.
